If Khari Jones' shoulder feels fine this morning, there's "a possibility" the Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback will dress for Saturday's game in Montreal. Jones, who has been out for almost a month with a throwing shoulder injury, threw a bunch of balls during yesterday's practice and could be in the lineup against the Alouettes.

"It was the most work he's done in a month," Bombers head coach Jim Daley said. "He had authority on the ball, good velocity, no impairment due to pain or tightness in his shoulder, and that's a great sign.

"(Yesterday) was a big day. Now we'll see if there's any setback (today), as sometimes happens, and then he'll have to take it at a little more gradual pace."

Jones, meanwhile, revealed some news about his undiagnosed injury. He said his doctors believe the problem lies in his infraspinatus muscle, which is on the back of the shoulder and laterally rotates the humerus bone.

"I'm just trying to get to the point where I'm throwing without pain, or too much pain, and that's where we're at now. It felt good (yesterday). It felt like I was throwing the ball where I wanted to and getting it out there with some strength.

"This week it's feeling better, so there is improvement."

Jones said he hasn't talked to Daley about what will happen when he is given the OK to play. Backup Kevin Glenn has guided the Bombers to three straight wins since taking over.

"We'll take it as it comes," Jones said.

"It doesn't matter to me. That's the thing -- it's about winning football games and Kevin's doing a good job.

"My goal is just to get healthy and be able to contribute."

NEW BLUE: The Bombers, as anticipated, brought in long snapper Michel Dupuis, a three-year CFL vet who spent the past two seasons with Daley in Calgary.

It's an insurance move because starting LS Chris Cvetkovic has an injured right shoulder. Cvetkovic's status for Saturday's game is questionable, but he did practise yesterday.

MASH UNIT: Bombers DB Ricky Bell (ribs) didn't work out yesterday, and he's not sure if he'll be able to play Saturday. Jayson Bray practised in Bell's spot ... S Geoff Drover (hamstring), LB Ryland Wickman (shoulder) and CB Markus Howell (hand) all practised yesterday. Wickman, who's wearing a harness under his shoulder pads, won't play Saturday. Howell probably won't play, either.

ALOUETTES NEWS: GM JIm Popp has signed import K Mark Mariscal, just in case Matt Kellett (eye) can't play Saturday. Mariscal attended the past two training camps of the NFL's New Orleans Saints ... SB Ben Cahoon still has a wonky shoulder, but he expects to dress Saturday.
