HAMILTON - Ricky Ray was so unaware of his milestone moment that he had no clue when it happened or how it happened.

It was that kind of afternoon for Ray, that game of kind for the Argos offence, once again falling short in a 13-12 loss to the host Ticats.

Ray, for the record, became the sixth quarterback in CFL history to eclipse 50,000 passing yards in a career when he hooked up with Jason Barnes on a 37-yard reception early in the fourth quarter.

It was Barnes’ only reception in a game in which the Argos produced 142 yards in net passing yards.

Three straight losses for the Argos, three straight games in which Ray hasn’t thrown for more touchdowns than interceptions, producing one of each on Monday.

“I didn’t even know when it happened,’’ said Ray of his career feat. “Obviously, it would have meant more had it been in a win and be able to celebrate it.

“It’s kind of nice to get it out the way, but it could have been under better circumstances.”
