On a day when the Argos made some minor roster moves, the biggest news involved Chad Owens.

With all due respect to Dwight Anderson, Terrell Sinkfield and Jeremiah Johnson, none did much of anything during their brief runs in Toronto.

In Owens’ case, the Argos are limited without this dynamic slotback and returner. He is as indispensable as quarterback Ricky Ray.

Without Owens, no Argos receiver has come close to recording a 100-yard game.

He won’t be available against Hamilton, but the news isn’t all that bad with Owens, who left Saturday’s game in Edmonton early in the fourth quarter, one of many blows that added up to an Argos loss.

“He’s more than likely out for this week,’’ said head coach Scott Milanovich during a conference call on Tuesday.

Initially, it was felt Owens hurt his hamstring when he went high over the middle to haul in an overthrown ball by Ray, rocked in the process by Eskimos defensive back Aaron Grymes.
