Strip away football’s Xs and Os and Saturday night’s kickoff, at least from an Argos point of view, is a test of character.

If there’s anything that’s defined the Scott Milanovich era in Toronto, it’s been how much mental toughness the Argos have shown when the going gets rough.

When they were finding themselves during Milanovich’s first season two years, the team found its rhythm during a road win against Saskatchewan in the season’s penultimate game, riding the momentum wave en route to capturing a Grey Cup.

When they were minus Ricky Ray and forced to play four road games in succession, the team stepped up under quarterback Zach Collaros.

A similar moment has arrived, even though the season is only five weeks old, a moment that will reveal Toronto’s character and its will to overcome.

Whenever any challenge was presented, the Argos have responded.
