TORONTO - For now, no surgery appears to be on the horizon for slotback Chad Owens, who will be a no-show on offence and on special teams for Friday’s return of the CFL in Ottawa and for the immediate future.

When Owens will be next seen on the field is anyone’s guess with what head coach Scott Milanovich referred to as a non-broken bone-related issue in the mid-foot area.

As an injured player, Owens wasn’t made available to the media, though for the second day in a row he was at practice wearing a walking boot.

On Monday, an MRI proved inconclusive, forcing the Argos to schedule a CAT Scan, which Milanovich revealed “showed something”, something that isn’t obviously good.

It wasn’t until Tuesday’s practice when Milanovich was informed of Owen’s status.

“A minimum of three weeks,’’ said Milanovich of Owens’ expected absence.

“Possibly significantly longer.”
