TORONTO - If it wasn’t for bad news, the Toronto Argonauts would have no news at all.

From bad to worse, the plight of the Double Blue continues to take more wrong turns than some misfit driver with no sense of direction.

On Monday, slotback Chad Owens was in a walking boot, scheduled to have an MRI to determine the extent of a foot injury he suffered in last week’s loss to visiting Calgary.

Wide receiver Jason Barnes, who missed the Stamps game with a banged-up knee, is also scheduled to undergo additional evaluation.

Matt Black, who has missed the team’s past two games, will be out a minimum of six weeks when further tests on his injured arm revealed a fracture in his forearm.

Jermaine Gabriel has filled in well at free safety — but depth now becomes a concern.

Starting right tackle Chris Van Zeyl was held out of Monday’s walkthrough session with what is believed to be a right leg injury.
