Just about everything and anything is being explored on the Argos’ defensive side of the ball, where everything and anything went so awry in last week’s season-opening loss in Winnipeg.

With so many new players unfamiliar with the person lining up next them, so many faces foreign to three-down football, the expected learning curve has exposed areas on defence.

The Blue Bombers more than capitalized, taking the opening kickoff and marching the length of the field for a touchdown, the pace and tenor of the evening basically set, a deficit that would only get worse for the Argos.

For Saturday afternoon’s home opener against the defending Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Argos have added five new bodies on defence to their 46-man roster, each being activated because of injuries.
