Chad Rempel has been an ex-Argo for all of about 21/2 months. He was an Argo for five consecutive years and spent 10 years in the Canadian Football League with five different teams. He had multiple stints with three of those teams, including the Argos.

Chances are, only the hardest of hard-core Argo fans have even heard of him.

And that’s a huge compliment to Rempel because in Rempel’s job, anonymity means you are doing it well.

Chances are if you are well acquainted with the long snapper on your favourite team it’s because his snaps have been errant and either led to or contributed to turnovers, blocked kicks or botched field goal attempts.

Rempel, in fact, did his job so well that at the age of 32 he’s on the verge of becoming the Chicago Bears long snapper.

Rempel was drafted in 2004 by the Edmonton Eskimos as a wide receiver.
