TORONTO - There’s no tougher cover in man coverage, no player better at capitalizing on a mismatch in space than Chad Owens.

Jalil Carter got torched in such scenarios at last year’s camp, Owens beating Carter at the line of scrimmage and getting behind coverage.

On the defensive side of the football, times have changed with the Argos, a change Carter has felt from the moment he was matched up with Owens at this year’s camp.

“At the beginning of camp last year, I couldn’t get a hand on Chad,’’ confided Carter following Tuesday’s gathering. “Now, I’m getting my hands on him. It’s a little different.”

Any coaching change ushers in a new philosophy, a new way of doing business, new schemes, new techniques.

Tim Burke is overseeing the Argos’ defence, in effect replacing Chris Jones, whose defence was instrumental in helping Toronto win the 100th Grey Cup in 2012.
