TORONTO - Eric Black didn’t have to go far when he had any question relating to football or life in general.

When some issue surfaced, Black knew his older brother Matt would provide guidance and comfort, a soothing voice in times of need.

Rather than live in his brother’s shadow, Eric drew inspiration and motivation, following his brother’s path that eventually led Matt to a starting role in the Argos’ secondary.

When Matt celebrated Toronto’s win in the milestone 100th Grey Cup, Eric was on the field at Rogers Centre, soaking in every moment, envisioning the day he too would get a chance to play at the pro level.

That opportunity arrived during Tuesday night’s CFL draft, a whirlwind of activity across the nine-team league, one of those rare moments when two brothers and one family were once again reunited.

There’s a lot of work that needs to be done, but the CFL has yet again a feel-good story to showcase with the Black brothers in Double Blue.
