It has been months since Shea Emry and the Argonauts came to terms, a period that provided Emry an opportunity to reflect on his time in Montreal, a period to look forward to his new start in Toronto.

But it wasn’t until a few days ago when reality began to sink in, the football life Emry has known no longer applicable to his current lot.

“Monday in the car,” began Emry as the Argos officially unveiled their newest player at their downtown offices on a day that essentially marked Emry’s tenure in Toronto.

“I opened the equipment bag and there it was, a white Argonaut jersey with the No. 41 and Emry on the back. It was quite real and a little bit of a shock, which is great because it’s one that I want.

“It’s exciting, it’s vibrant, it’s everything. Toronto has a lot going on.”

On the surface, the Emry-Argo match is one made in pigskin heaven, an organization that is rebuilding its defence in need of an anchor, a pulse and a sporting conscious.
