TORONTO - Jim Daley has seen just about all that there is to see in the CFL, been associated in whatever capacity with multiple teams and relishes every moment when an opportunity presents itself.

Having served as a guest coach for the B.C. Lions in training camp last off-season, Daley spent a year removed from the game, working out at the gym.

“I was trying to stay sane,’’ he says.

Deep down, Daley pined for a return to the grind that is coaching and all the rewards and pitfalls that follow.

“I missed it last year,’’ Daley added. “It’s why when Scott called I was excited. I wanted to coach again.”

A class act who gives the Argos a wealth of experience, Daley is among the handful of new coaches Argos head coach Scott Milanovich has added to his staff, a group Milanovich formally introduced at a downtown reception.

Daley will oversee the team’s special teams, a unit Mike O’Shea handled with mixed results during his time in Toronto before heading to Winnipeg as its head coach.
