TORONTO - The Argonauts have lost the second overall pick from the 2010 CFL Canadian draft and a five-year member of the team in the expansion draft.

The Ottawa RedBlacks selected Argos starting right guard Joe Eppele in the second round (first of two Canadian rounds) and linebacker Jason Pottinger in the third round.

A native of Brackendale, B.C., the 6-foot-8, 301-pound Eppele was a regular for the Argos since coming out of Washington State. Pottinger was a standout on special teams and a backup linebacker.

“Joe is a player who started a lot of games and been able to win with them,” RedBlacks GM Marcel Desjardins said. “We feel he’s only going to get better. He’s going to probably be starting for us and has a very good chance to be on our offensive line."
