TORONTO - Zach Collaros needs a team to call his own, a competitor who wants to take every rep in practice and every snap in a game.

It won’t be in Toronto and on the surface there seems to be no logical way or reason why Collaros will be back in Double Blue.

The writing was on the wall when Collaros used his mental toughness and ability to make big plays in big moments while incumbent Ricky Ray was sidelined for six weeks with a shoulder injury.

When Ray re-injured his left knee, Collaros stepped in, making his first career start against visiting B.C. back in late July, which happened to be the last time the Argos would play a complete game in all three phases.

Now that Toronto’s season is in the books, Collaros will head into free agency looking to be the man.

He’s earned it and he’ll have his opportunity, whether it’s in the NFL or in the CFL.

“I’ve started to think about it (his future) a little bit,” said Collaros.
