TORONTO - For the first time since 1999, chants of “Oskee Wee Wee, Holy Mackinaw” will resonate at the Grey Cup.

Hamilton’s time has arrived and it was made official in Toronto, on the very ground where the Ticats lost a heartbreaker in the CFL’s big game back in 1989.

History will be debated and history will soon be made, but Ticats football has come of age with Kent Austin and Orlondo Steinauer at the centre of this renaissance.

Austin’s play-calling, despite the occasional head scratcher, was brilliant, Steinauer’s defensive adjustments sublime as Hamilton prevailed 36-24 in as wild and crazy an East final as one will ever see.
