It was during the Argos' bye week when Khalif Mitchell's season-long journey was put into perspective, a moment he believes helped re-energize his spirit and body.

"I got to see my daughter," smiled Mitchell following Friday's practice. "I embraced all the reasons why I play football. I think that time gave me that edge that I can transfer into this game."

Sunday's East final against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats could represent the final time Mitchell straps on his helmet as a member of the Argos, perhaps his last opportunity to win a Grey Cup.

Mitchell isn't going to look into the future and no one is going to speculate what it holds for this dominant defensive tackle, but he's always wanted to pursue one last shot at the NFL and the Argos aren't going to stand in his way, if that's the route he eventually takes.
