It's Hammer time, a time Robert McCune revels when so much is on the line, when so much agony is experienced when a loss unfolds.

McCune is nursing a left shoulder injury he suffered in the Argonauts' penultimate game versus visiting Winnipeg.

Like many starters, McCune sat in the team's finale against Montreal.

The linebacker is known as Hammer, a well-earned moniker, but it's unknown how effective he'll be, assuming he's able to suit up this Sunday in the East final versus the Hamilton Tiger-Cats

"Right now I'm planning on going," said McCune following Tuesday's gathering at Rogers Centre. "I'm going to come out (Wednesday) and go 1,000% and see where I'm at."

Tough as nails, highly competitive and extremely bright, it would shock everyone if McCune does not play against the Ticats, but if there's any lingering pain that compromises his ability to make plays then another option must be explored.

As of Tuesday, McCune was itching to play.
