Ricky Ray tried to summon the appropriate words to convey to a fallen teammate, attempting to offer moral support.

As much as Ray tried, the Argonauts' starting quarterback understood the devastation and the loss Chad Kackert suffered.

It's why Ray came to the conclusion that no words would suffice.

"It's hard to figure out what to say to somebody in a big injury like that, but just to let him know we're thinking about him," began Ray.

Ray's backfield partner, Chad Kackert, underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a broken left ankle.

During Toronto's bye week, the Argos gathered for a regularly scheduled practice at Rogers Centre to regain their legs in preparation for the East final.

On one innocuous rep, Kackert crumpled to the turf, no one making contact, no logical explanation.
