TORONTO - A three-time Grey Cup champion, Ricky Ray gets to relish his nomination as the East's most outstanding player for the first time in a career that will eventually end with induction into the CFL Hall of Fame.

Not one to wonder what could have been, it's left to others to speculate the numbers the Argonauts quarterback would have posted had he been able to complete an entire season.

What's been abundantly obvious from the moment the Argos gathered for a mini-camp back in the spring in Bradenton, Fla., is the comfort level in which Ray has embraced Toronto's offence.

Whether it's Montreal or Hamilton which emerges from Sunday's East semifinal, the Argos will be favoured to represent the division in the Grey Cup because of Ray's presence, operating an efficient offence that will be indoors for the Nov. 17 final.
