TORONTO - Now that things are all well, and good, Chad Kackert is able to admit he was human; willing to admit that with each footstep through the past two months there has been trepidation.
Football is a physical game. Pain is an occupational hazard. Disappointment comes in equal doses with the exhilaration and it is a lifestyle in which the scales of emotion tilt from week to week with every success and failure.
Kackert was just wondering when, or if, those scales would tilt his way again.
The Argonauts' running back returned last weekend from a concussion, ripping through the Edmonton defence for 155 yards and one touchdown, not to mention saving Zach Collaros endless embarrassment by recovering the quarterbackís fumble at the Eskimos goal line.
Let's just say Kackert cashed in on a lot of good karma.
But, then, he was owed some in a season that had been a struggle physically, and mentally.
