It is the nature of sports that fans and their extensions, the media, are going to focus on offence when discussing their respective teams.

Whether it’s goals, runs, or touchdowns, those creating them or scoring them will dominate the headlines.

Those that prevent them won’t be ignored but they certainly won’t get equal billing.

Which brings us to the Toronto Argonauts and their recent three-game winning streak that has propelled them to the top of the Eastern Conference standings.

The Argos will try to make it four in a row this evening at the Rogers Centre when they play host to the Edmonton Eskimos in a 7 p.m. kickoff.

What the Eskimos will face is an Argos offence, led by quarterback Ricky Ray, that has been on fire over the win streak and have certainly got their fair share of accolades.

Seriously overlooked in all that fawning has been the play of the Argos defence.
