The Edmonton Eskimos have been vulnerable to a ground attack.

Unfortunately for the Argonauts, that’s the one thing this season they have not had. And, they aren’t even certain that they’ll have running back Curtis Steele.

“He’s feeling better. He’s been banged up a bit. We’ll see. He’s more hour-to-hour than day-to-day at this point,” coach Scott Milanovich said Thursday.

Steele played two games, filling in admirably for starter Chad Kackert. He had two TDs against B.C., blocked efficiently and has 116 yards on 22 carries.

But Toronto’s ground game still ranks second-last in the CFL, averaging 86.7 yards a game. And, for the past two days, Quinn Porter — signed only on July 25 —has been taking reps with the No. 1 unit.

Toronto also signed NFL veteran Jerious Norwood to a practice roster contract this week, but he’s entirely new to the system.
