What unfolded Tuesday night would represent the tip of the football iceberg, a small sample size that put Zach Collaros under the spotlight.

The moment wasn’t too big for Collaros, who made his starting debut for the Argos in Toronto’s unlikely blowout of the B.C. Lions.

Moving forward, there’s a lot more that will be summoned and asked of Collaros, who will one day return as Ricky Ray’s backup.

With the Argos enjoying yet another break from the CFL’s annual curiosity that is its schedule, no immediate decision has to be made at quarterback.

Head coach Scott Milanovich has a scheduled media availability on Saturday as preparations for Toronto’s Aug. 8 visit to Montreal looms.

At 3-2, there should be no urgency to turn to Ray if his injured left knee isn’t sufficiently healed.

Now that a full game film of Collaros is available, an opponent such as Montreal can get a better handle on his skill set.
