Welcome to the Canadian Football League, Zach Collaros.

And you might want to stick around a while.

In truth, it’s certainly pleasant to see a first-time starter quarterback in Double Blue who a) isn’t famous; b) didn’t play for other CFL teams; c) wasn’t traded here for half a team and d) looks like a playa.

To remember the last time a rookie quarterback looked this competent, well, sorry, we don’t remember back that far,

Collaros has some quickness, some moves, some moxie, and a whole lot of good fortune on his side as the Argonauts defeated the B.C. Lions 38-12 in a rare Tuesday night game at the Rogers Centre.

Twice Collaros threw into the end zone, into double coverage, and twice his receivers, Jason Barnes and later John Chiles, came away with the football and touchdown receptions. The Lions were that close and occasionally that terrible in the secondary — but Collaros was indeed impressive.
