TORONTO - Zach Collaros had the command of the huddle, would make throws when dropping into the pocket, completed passes on the run by throwing off his back foot and occasionally took off with the football.

One practice does not allow for a lot be gleaned, but Collaros was clearly in command, of his emotions and environment, the Argos’ huddle and new-found responsibilities attendant with being the team’s starting quarterback.

How long Collaros continues to assume this role depends on Ricky Ray’s health and Collaros’ ability to lead an Argos offence dotted with rookies.

For one day, Collaros was the man and he practised and acted as though he’s going to run with it.

A lot, naturally, will be made more clear when the Argos play host to the B.C. Lions next Tuesday, an opponent that has given the Argos all kinds of problems in recent years.
