On his first day as the team’s incumbent kicker and punter, veteran Noel Prefontaine was asked to sum up his feelings.

“It felt awkward,’’ began Prefontaine. “The timing, the rhythm you need to have, obviously I don’t have it yet. But it’s only Day 1 and I’ll build off what happened.”

Swayze Waters hurt his kicking leg (right) on the second half kickoff during last week’s season-opening win over the visiting Ticats.

Dontrelle Inman, who scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, punted for Waters, while Spencer Watt handled the converts and kickoffs.
