TORONTO - Juaquin Iglesias thought his days in pro football had ended until the Argos presented a new start, an opportunity he simply had to seize.
Whether it was the politics of the pigskin down south, not being in the right situation at the right time, not taking advantage of whatever reps that were given, Iglesias was resigned to life after football and decided to enrol again at the University of Oklahoma, where he carved himself a nice niche.
“I thought I was done,’’ confided Iglesias, a wide receiver whose first taste of three-down was provided when he attended the Argos’ recent mini-camp in Florida. “I got the call from Toronto and I figured I’d give it a chance.”
From a physical standpoint, Iglesias looks a little like Arland Bruce III, Toronto’s former go-to receiver who has since taken his act to Montreal.
