The Argonauts took a double hit Monday.

Ejiro Kuale has gone over to the dark side.

Ricky Foley has gone green.

After three seasons with the Argonauts, Kuale, the vocal linebacker/defensive end and special teams performer, has taken his act to Montreal.

Kuale, it was announced Monday, has signed a three-year contract with the Alouettes.

Foley, meantime, is joining Gang Green in Saskatchewan, as Toronto’s losses on the defensive side of the football continued. Already gone from the defensive line that started the in the Grey Cup championship are Ronald Flemons and Armond Armstead.

Kuale, a fan favourite because of his fiery demeanor and an inspirational team leader, was given his release just a few weeks after Toronto’s Grey Cup victory so that he could pursue some NFL opportunities.

He was hoping to catch on with an NFL team, perhaps due to his versatility as a special teams player.
