For Brandon Isaac it is three strikes ... and out.
The CFL announced Monday it was suspending the Argonauts linebacker for one game for his helmet to helmet hit on Riders quarterback Darian Durant during last Saturday's game.
Isaac was previously fined twice, for illegal hits on Bombers quarterback Buck Pierce and Calgary running back Jon Cornish.
In the fourth quarter Saturday, a blitzing Isaac ran in untouched towards Durant, who was facing the opposite direction and looking downfield to pass.
No penalty was called as Isaac hit Durant near the neck area.
Isaac is expected to serve the suspension when Toronto plays its season finale Thursday. Isaac has the right to appeal but, if he lost, would risk being forced to sit out next week's semi-final.
The Argonauts declined comment, citing a potential appeal.
"The Argos respect Isaac's right to a potential appeal process between the CFL Players Association and the CFL," said an Argos spokesperson, in a statement. "As a result, there will be no further comment from the players, coaches or club personnel about the hit or the suspension at this time."
