TORONTO - Steven Jyles won’t come off the nine-game injured list until next week, but speculation about the quarterback’s immediate football future is in full gear.

Will Jyles, acquired from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers during the off-season, be thrust into game action for the Argonauts? If Cleo Lemon continues his modest ascent on Friday when the Argos play the B.C. Lions, will he be safe as the starter for another week? How will the new pecking order influence Dalton Bell?

“There is absolutely no doubt that Cleo understands the pressure he is under, and Steven understands where he is, coming off (the injured list), with the expectation level there,” head coach and general manager Jim Barker said.

“Dalton understands what is going on. It’s just a question of focusing on week to week, and I talked to them about that.”

Meanwhile, defensive tackle Kevin Huntley practised on Wednesday, but it’s not certain that he will play against the Lions. Huntley, who missed practice on Tuesday with an ankle problem, would be replaced by Alex Buzbee.
