Paging Dr. Cory Boyd

If you needed any more proof of the value Cory Boyd has to the Toronto Argos, Friday’s game hammered it home one more time.
Boyd temporarily left the game with 71/2 minutes left in the second quarter when his knee got tangled up as the Bombers stuffed him on a third-down-and-short gamble.
Boyd stayed down and limped off the field but returned a series later.
Boyd, though, didn’t have his usual push and drive, he became more of an afterthought.
“It’s probably a sprained MCL,” Boyd said although it should be pointed out that no actual tests had been conducted when he made that diagnosis. “I believe it happened in the pile up after the hit. My leg just got caught in the wrong position and you know when you’re in that pile people just want to keep pushing and tugging. Unfortunately they tweaked my knee a little bit.”
Missed one series
Boyd did finish the game and missed just the one series but his total production for the night was seven carries for 14 yards.
Boyd will no doubt be re-assessed once the team gets back to Toronto.
