Kevin Huntley knew he was supposed to be smiling. He just couldn't.

Smiling was the last thing on the big defensive end's mind as the televisons at the Argonauts sponsors' reception he was at on Tuesday rolled footage of last year's Eastern Conference final.

"What I've been thinking about since (Tuesday) night was that TSN league preview where they talked about Montreal's championship season and they had highlights from the East final and every highlight showed us looking sad or pitiful and it pissed me off that we were portrayed like that," Huntley said.

"I was supposed to be happy and smiling for the sponsors but I see that and it just infuriated me to the point where I wanted to put my pads on right then and there," Huntley said. "That's my passion right now."

Huntley said it was just more fuel for the fire heading into the season.

"At the end of the day, you are remembered by what you did on the field in the last game you played," Huntley said. "And the last game I played that really meant something was the Eastern final and I wasn't happy with the way I played and I don't think anybody on this team is."

Fortunately for TSN, the panel that voted the top 50 players of the CFL managed to include Huntley at No. 31. Huntley said with a laugh that he probably thought it was a little low but admitted he was humbled being in the company of so many long-time CFLers after just two years in the league.
