If you're looking for the area of deepest talent on the Argos roster, it's hard to get past the secondary.

The Argos have returned Willie Pile, Lin-J Shell, Evan McCollough, Sean Smalls, Byron Parker, Michael Grant, and Matt Black from last year's roster. They have added veteran Wes Lysack from Calgary, brought back Dovonte Edwards from 2009 and added rookie Armando Murillo to the mix. The only loss from last year's group was Willie Middlebrooks, who was forced into early retirement by injury.

Murillo has been getting plenty of positive feedback from head coach Jim Barker since rookie camp.

Even Byron Parker, the veteran cornerback whose job Murillo is vying for, has been impressed.

"It's like coach Barker said, we all might not be here including myself," Parker said. "You just never know how the cookie may crumble, but that's part of competition. We are a tight group. Whatever happens we'll be proud of the other player. We've got a great group here. Everybody back there can play."

Parker remembers 2005 when the Argos cut Raphael Ball to make a spot for him and he's not ruling out the possibility Murillo could do the same thing.

"You never know what could happen. He has been playing well. He was a little shaky early on but he's finding his groove now so I wish the best for everyone," Parker said.
