Argos bring back Edwards
By Sports Network

TORONTO - Defensive back Dovonte Edwards, who played for Toronto in 2009, was brought back by the Argonauts on Friday.

The signing of Edwards was one of several moves made by the team. They also inked defensive lineman Chris Bradwell, quarterback B.J. Hall, linebacker Durell Mapp and cornerback Armando Murillo, while releasing defensive back Isaiah Gardner and quarterback Matt Grothe.

The 28-year-old Edwards, who played in the NFL with Minnesota (2005) and Detroit (2007), participated in 18 games, with eight starts at defensive back, cornerback and kick returner, for the Argos in 2009. He suffered a serious leg injury prior to the 2010 season and spent the year rehabilitating in his hometown in North Carolina.
