TORONTO - Could the Argonauts soon add another quarterback to their stable?
The Argos, who recently traded for Steven Jyles, reportedly have added Pat White to their negotiation list after he was dropped last week by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. But the Argos have not actually signed White.
White starred for West Virginia University, running up a 34-8 record from 2005-08. A two-sport athlete who has had a couple of chances at a career in Major League Baseball, White was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2009 but retired after that season to sign a minor-league contract with the Kansas City Royals. But White retired from baseball in the fall.
White became the first quarterback in NCAA history to win four bowl games and holds the NCAA record for most rushing yards by a quarterback with 4,385.
Jyles and Cleo Lemon are expected to compete with each other for the Argosí No. 1 job at quarterback.
