Owens in Edmonton, but not for right reason

TORONTO - For Chad Owens, it's going to be a little hollow to be in Edmonton this week.

The Argonauts returner is the favourite to be named the Canadian Football League most outstanding special teams player, and will learn on Thursday night at the awards ceremony whether that's the case. But being in the Alberta capital and not playing in the Grey Cup on Sunday will sting.

"I was hoping that I would be able to go there with the rest of my guys," Owens said. "In my mind, I was sure we were going to get there.

"Hopefully Montreal and Saskatchewan will give the CFL another great Grey Cup, as it was last year, and keep bringing more people to this game (as a whole)."
