TORONTO - Several Argos will be putting in overtime of a different sort on Thursday night.
A handful, including safety Willie Pile, will join Toronto Police at a R.I.D.E. program spot check on Eglinton Ave. at the Don Valley Parkway at 10 p.m.
“If we happen to come across anybody who fails the sobriety checkpoint, I won’t be putting them in cuffs, but I will be right there encouraging them to make better choices the next time,” Pile said. “We just want to promote safe driving.”
Drivers who haven’t been drinking before they get to the checkpoint will be rewarded with a ticket voucher to the Argos’ final home game, on Oct. 29 against the Montreal Alouettes.
