MONCTON — Bill Symons didn’t exactly envision one day watching a CFL regular season game in the Maritimes when he was racking up the yards during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

“I wouldn’t have even known where New Brunswick was,” the legendary Argonauts running back said with a laugh on Friday as he watched the Boatmen practise.

“But I have spent some time here and the people have been great.”

Symons is one of a handful of Argos alumni who are in town for Touchdown Atlantic. The 67-year-old works with a wholesale lumber distribution company out of Bolton, Ont., and will be taking some staff and dealers from the region to the game on Sunday.

No less than 185 people.

“And if I had another 100 tickets, I could get rid of them tomorrow,” Symons said. “We’re all really excited about it.”
