Argos' Boyd highlights CFL weekly awards

Toronto- Toronto running back Cory Boyd, Montreal linebacker Chip Cox, returner Tim Maypray and Winnipeg wide receiver Dave Stala were selected as the CFL's top performers for Week 6 of the 2010 season.

Boyd earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor after turning in a huge performance in the Argonauts' 29-28 victory at Edmonton. The running back posted career-highs with 25 carries for 164 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. His score with less than a minute remaining in regulation proved to be the difference. He also caught four passes for 46 yards and a TD.

Earning the defensive award was Cox, who helped lock down the Alouettes' 30-26 win over Saskatchewan. The five-year CFL veteran finished with two interceptions, the second coming in the late stages of the fourth quarter that sealed the victory. In addition, Cox ended with a team-best eight tackles and one pass defensed.

Maypray took home the special teams award for the week for his sensational performance in Montreal's win. The special teams maven returned a missed field goal 118 yards for a score and compiled 234 total return yards, including six kickoffs for 109 yards and one punt for seven more.

Rounding out the weekly awards was Stala, who received the Canadian Player of the Week accolade. The eight-year CFL vet pulled in four catches for 59 yards and put his squad up for good with a 15-yard TD grab as Hamilton held on for a 29-22 win over Winnipeg.
