Travis Lulay may not be a household name in the CFL, but he was certainly on Jim Barker's radar.

Barker admitted yesterday Lulay impressed him last season when he was in Calgary, enough so that when Barker was on a quarterback hunt this past off-season, Lulay was one of the guys he tried to get.

"I think Travis Lulay is one of the great young players in our league," Barker said. "They've had a lot of great quarterbacks go through there (B.C.) but the one guy Wally (Buono) wasn't going to allow anybody to touch was Travis Lulay. I thought last year when we were in Calgary he played very well against us. He has a calmness and composure to him."

It was at that point that Argos play-by-play man Mike Hogan asked Barker if he specifically targeted Lulay this past winter.

"Oh, yeah," Barker said. "But we enquired about everyone. I probably enquired about you."

Hogan, who was recently let go by the FAN 590, didn't miss a beat with his response. "I'm available now," Hogan said.
