The votes are in and the Argos have their team captains for 2010.

Leading the defence this year with more captain votes than any of the four team captains named is former linebacker, now starting safety Willie Pile.

Representing the offence will be CFL veteran but Argo newcomer Jeremaine Copeland.

Bryan Crawford returns as special-teams captain while Rob Murphy, in his second year with the Argos, will be the line captain.

“Those guys are very deserving,’ head coach Jim Barker said. “The entire team voted so it wasn’t just offence voting for offence.

It speaks to how valuable those guys are. People look up to them. They are guys who have been successful around this league and we expect them to lead. They’ve done nothing but be great leaders since the beginning of training camp.”

Barker felt it important to point out that Pile led the way with more votes than any other Argonaut.

“That just speaks to the kind of human being he is, the kind of leader he is and the way he prepares,” Barker said. “He’s everything you want. If you have 24 Willie Piles you’re going to win a lot of football games.”
