Button hook, pizza pickup

Canadian football has its own lingo.

Cleo Lemon knew that. But this is ridiculous. When a quarterback tunes in his helmet headphones, he doesn't expect to be asked to stop at the corner store on his way home to pick up some milk and bread.

But when Lemon tuned in the transmitter in his helmet yesterday, he wasn't sure who was talking to him.

"We had some minor communication problems at the front end of it," said Lemon, chuckling. The team was using helmet transmitters -- allowing offensive co-ordinators to talk to their QBs -- for the first time.

But what Lemon was hearing didn't come out of any playbook he's been reading. "I don't know it was some random chatter. We got someone from a house or something across the street. Sounded like a personal call. Other than that it went quite well."

At this rate, Lemon could be the first quarterback to call a down and out -- oh, and pick up a pizza on the way back to the huddle. Double cheese, please.
