Now the fun really begins for the Argonauts.

Veterans will arrive at the club’s Erindale training facility on Saturday for medicals, and training camp will start in earnest on Sunday when all healthy vets and rookies hit the field.

Head coach Jim Barker will cut approximately six players from the rookie camp that ended on Friday before the workout on Sunday morning. Around 68 players will be on the field on Sunday.

“We’re going to be letting go of some guys who are good players,” Barker said. “We wore pads for three days, and they were competing. That’s what you want — tough decisions at the end of the day.”

Running back Cory Boyd, who hit his head during practice on Wednesday, will be out of action for another week.

The Argos’ first of two pre-season games is on June 13 at the Rogers Centre when they play host to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
