Thanks to a slew of pre-draft trades, expect linebacker Cory Greenwood and offensive lineman Joe Eppele to become members of the Argonauts at the Canadian Football League Canadian draft on Sunday.

“My understanding from speaking to the Argos organization is that they will take Cory with their first pick,” Johnathon Hardaway, the agent for Greenwood, said on Saturday afternoon.

But it won’t be with the first pick overall. The Argos have agreed to trade that pick to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, along with the eighth pick, in exchange for the second and fourth picks and a veteran Canadian. Sportsnet’s Arash Madani was reporting that the Argos then would flip the fourth pick to the B.C. Lions for the third pick.

“The Argos definitely will be trading down,” a CFL source said.

There is no clear-cut consensus No. 1 pick, but the Roughriders plan to make Queen’s defensive end/linebacker Shomari Williams with the first selection.

The Lions are interested in Bishop’s wide receiver Shawn Gore.

So if the scenario plays out, Williams would go to the Roughriders at No. 1, Greenwood and Eppele to the Argos at Nos. 2 and 3, and Gore to the Lions at No. 4.

None of the trades had been registered with the league by mid-Saturday afternoon.
