Andre Durie received a nice Christmas present a week early and the Argonauts running back wants to keep giving in 2010.

Plagued by injuries until this past season, Durie, a native of Mississauga, dressed for all 18 games for the Argos and had 1,059 all-purpose yards.

The 28-year-old has spent time at running back, slotback and returning kicks and has done well on special teams.

The Argos thanked him yesterday with a three-year contract that carries Durie through the 2012 season.

We just want to get things going again after last season (when the Argos were 3-15), Durie said. Its in our blood.

Durie said he was a little bit surprised that coach Bart Andrus was fired on Monday. But whatever the organization feels we need to get back (to winning), I support.
