The Argonauts should know by the end of December whether BMO Field can become the CFL club's new home.

"There should be a resolution by then and we should know what the league's opinion is of the field," Argos president Bob Nicholson said last night.

Argos co-owners David Cynamon and Howard Sokolowski have met with city officials regarding a move to BMO Field from the Rogers Centre, and the CFL's board of governors last weekend gave a green light to a feasibility study. The main obstacle that might stop a move from happening is the length of the field at BMO, which is not to the CFL's 110-yard standards.

Published reports that have said the Argos don't pay rent at the Rogers Centre are off-base, Nicholson said. He reiterated the plan remains for the Argos to play at the Rogers Centre in the 2010 season.

As for whether general manager Adam Rita and/or head coach Bart Andrus will be back after the club went 3-15 in 2009, Nicholson said that discussions regarding an evaluation of the past season have not yet happened.
