The Argonauts probably will have to do without an integral member of their defence against the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night.

Tackle Adriano Belli has developed an infection in his left leg and is on antibiotics.

"He is probably going to (be) disabled for the game," Argos head coach Bart Andrus said after practice on Wednesday. "We have not made a final decision yet. We're taking it an hour at a time."

Belli missed a game on Aug. 1 versus Winnipeg because of a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee. As he was then, he will be replaced in the starting lineup by another non-import, rookie Etienne Legare.

But the Argos could get a much-needed boost on offence, as receiver P.K. Sam made it through practice at St. Marcellinus Secondary School in Mississauga without a scratch. Sam tweaked his groin on Monday and has not played since being released by the Buffalo Bills in July.
