The Argonauts officially unveiled Bob Nicholson as their new president and CEO on Wednesday morning.

Michael (Pinball) Clemons has been named vice-chair of the team and will report to Nicholson as his special adviser.

Nicholson was the Argos president from 1995 to 1999, during which the Argos won two Grey Cups.

"I'm glad to be back," Nicholson said. "Times are different. There were some dark days for the league and people were wondering if it would survive. But since the late 1990s the league has grown and flourished."

Still, Nicholson knows the Argos face challenges, especially the presence of the NFL's Buffalo Bills on their turf.

"The Greater Toronto Area is one of the toughest marketplaces," Nicholson said. "One message I'll deliver is we can't get sidetracked."

Nicholson has more than 25 years experience in professional sports, and most recently served as president of his own Wizard Sports Group, which helped manage the 2009 World Baseball Classic in Toronto.
