The Argonauts have signed defensive lineman Ronald Flemons through 2010.

Flemons originally became an Argo in March 2006 as a free agent, playing two years for Toronto before he was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the swap that brought quarterback Kerry Joseph to the Argos. Flemons re-joined the Argos early last season and appeared in 11 games.

His versatility allows him to play defensive end or defensive tackle, and in a pinch, he can be used at nose tackle.

“Last year left a bad taste in my mouth and I can’t wait to help change that,” Flemons said. “Winning is a whole lot better than losing, and I expect to win.”

In 2 1/2 seasons with Toronto, mostly as a backup, Flemons has 39 defensive tackles and seven sacks.

Also, the Argos have re-signed defensive safety Cory Peoples, who attended camp with the club last year and was a final cut. Offensive guard Andrew Greene, who signed last September and dressed in seven games, has been released.
