Toronto's all-sports radio station is getting closer to having the play-by-play rights to all of the city's major pro sports teams.
A source confirmed that The Fan 590 will announce today it has acquired the Argos' rights for the coming 2007 season.
How the Fan will squeeze the team in among the Blue Jays and Raptors in September might be a challenge, but the station has options as part of the Rogers Communication family.
The on-air crew also will get a makeover. Is is expected Mike Hogan, host of the station's mid-morning show and a long-time CFL supporter, will take over play-by-play duties, while Pete Martin remains in his role as analyst.
The new deal won't include rights to the Grey Cup, which is retained by AM640's parent company, Corus Entertainment.
